Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you have a registry?
Your presence at our wedding is truly a gift to us. For those who have asked we do have a registry at
Macy's, which includes some fun, grown-up items for our new kitchen. We also created an alternative registry at Honeyfund if you would like to contribute to our honeymoon.
- Are children invited?
The wedding ceremony and reception will be adults only. Children travelling with their parents are more than welcome to join for the rest of the weekend activities.
- Should I let you know if I want to stay at Rockwood?
Yes! Please email Allison or Cortney if you are planning to stay in the bunkhouses any or all nights, so that we can order linens for you.
- What should I bring if I am staying at Rockwood?
The bunkhouses are definitely not luxurious, but if you are up for a summer camp adventure, it should be great fun!
Please let us know if you will be staying in the bunkhouse and we will order linens for you. The linen package includes twin sheets, a blanket, a pillow, and towels. These are not top-of-the-line linens, so you may want to bring your own towel or pillowcase.
We will stock the bathrooms with soap, shampoo, and conditioners. However, these are not hotel accommodations so if you need a hair dryer, alarm clock, iron, etc. remember to pack these things. Also, we recommend you bring a good book since there are no TVs on the property.
- Is there food at Rockwood?
Unfortunately there is no restaurant or cafeteria at Rockwood. If you do not have a car, you can order food for delivery or walk to the Old Angler’s Inn for fine dining. Check About the Area for food recommendations.
And remember that we’ll be providing food during the wedding events, so you will certainly not go hungry!
- Is there a drugstore / grocery store / gas station / coffee shop / liquor store nearby?
Just up the road from Rockwood is Potomac Village, with two shopping centers that should meet all your last-minute travel and party needs. Potomac Village is located at the intersection of Falls Road and River Road.
- Will I be able to get National Park stamps in my passport book?
We’re so glad you asked! There are a wealth of opportunities to get National Park passport stamps in both the National Captial region and Mid-Atlantic region.
There are actually two National Parks walking distance from Rockwood - C&O Canal and Great Falls!
- Oh no, I don’t have a National Park passport book!
No need to worry - you can get a National Park passport book and start collecting stamps at our wedding!
Passport books are available in the visitor center bookstore at most National Parks. If you can’t wait, order your passport book online now.
